How We Play:
Handouts were provided to all attending parents outlining
our Code of Ethics both on field and on the sidelines.
Brought to our attention were a few items:
- Positive Support and Respect is Crucial for
1)
Players
2) Coaches
3) Refs
4) Spectators
- Safety is 1st Concern
- Allow coaches to be the only coaches
- Games are for the players enjoyment, growth and
experiences! Remain Positive!
Upcoming Events:
There is a free seminar being offered on Bainbridge
Island titled “Mastery
Approach to Parenting in Sports.” Thursday September 6th, 7p-8p at the
Bainbridge Island High School Auditorium.
This is an excellent seminar, and it would be nice
to provide this course in the future locally.
Visiting D4 Representatives Comments:
Lori Meyers, D-4 Commissioner
There has been a change
regarding our Red Card Rule. If you are red-carded, you
are off the field and
will miss the next game as well. Lori mentions
to keep an eye on this new rule, as she expects it to
change again before the
season games begin, hoping that players will be allowed due process, and
in
cases that it is overturned, the player can indeed play in the next game.
Rule updates will be provided on the website.
All Coaches and Staff must clear basic Risk Management
before working with the kids. This includes Coaches,
Assistant Coaches, Team parent leaders and
anyone who would pick-up and transport kids from the team. You can find
Risk Management forms online at jcsoccerclub.org.

valuable
resource! You can also use this site to get driving directions to
fields and report lost and found items.
Volunteer Opportunities:
There are several volunteer opportunities at both the
local level and the District level. We have at
least 6 positions available locally,
and are
interested in
providing transition times and training. Please contact Kristin
Berg if you are interested in Volunteering.
Soccer Opportunities:
Indoor soccer is a great way to enjoy soccer year
round. If you have not visited the Zone in
Poulsbo, it is a great facility offering
indoor soccer
for our
youth.
Schedules were distributed at the meeting for both
Chimacum Girls and Port Townsend Girls Soccer teams.
You can learn
so much by
watching the games,
and the players need our support as spectators. Enjoy a
